The National Sheep and Goat Breeders Association (NOKA) issued a declaration stating that the state has lost the trust of farmers due to the way the sheep and goat pox epidemic is being managed. In the position addressed to the Prime Minister, the parliamentary committee on agriculture and all parliamentary-represented parties, NOKA accuses the Minister of Agriculture Georgi Tahov and the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) Svetlozar Patarinski of misleading the government, parliament, and the public by providing "incomplete, inaccurate, or manipulatively selected information" about the spread of the disease and vaccination measures. The organization claims that the lack of control and delayed reactions of the institutions have led to panic, illegal vaccinations, and "economic destruction of entire farms."
