Norway's first quarter herring and mackerel export statistics

In the first quarter, about 119,000 tons of herring were landed in Norway, up from 108,000 tons in the same period last year. The Norwegian Seafood Council said that frozen herring can be stored in Norway and then shipped according to a plan agreed with customers. This growing trend among Norwegian exporters means that the direct correlation between the immediate catch and export volume is not as close as in the past.
