In the first quarter, Norway saw a rise in herring landings, reaching 119,000 tons from 108,000 tons the previous year. Despite this increase, herring exports in March fell by 36% in volume and 10% in value year-on-year. On the other hand, mackerel exports surged, with a 17% increase in volume and 54% increase in value in the first quarter. The largest markets for these exports were South Korea, Vietnam, and China.
