Onion price swings continue in Ukraine

After the recent price increase in Ukraine, sale prices for onions have decreased again. This is reported by EastFruit analysts. "The main reason for the downward price trend was the decrease in demand in this segment, because producers are increasingly offering vegetables of medium and low quality for sale," analysts note. So, as of December 5, onion sales are in the range of UAH 10-16/kg ($0.24-0.38/kg), which is on average 16% cheaper than at the end of the last working week. Analysts note that closer to the weekend, wholesale batches of onions in Ukraine are already being sold at prices inferior to the previous season's indicators.
