The UK's Marine Management Organisation, acting on behalf of Defra, has launched the Fisheries and Seafood Scheme (FaSS) to fund projects that promote sustainable growth in the fishing, processing, and aquaculture sectors, with a particular focus on the live bivalve molluscs (LBMs) sector. This scheme will provide grants to projects that strengthen the financial resilience of LBM businesses, aid adaptation to new trading conditions, and improve access to necessary infrastructure for both domestic sales and exports. Each project will be capped at a grant of £150,000, with the submission deadline set for 6 October 2021. Additionally, the scheme includes funding for projects aimed at protecting the marine environment, advancing science and technology, and enhancing the recreational sea fishing sector.
