US: Pacific cod can't rely on coastal safe havens for protection during marine heat waves

A recent study conducted by Oregon State University has found that young Pacific cod, which typically seek refuge in near shore safe havens during marine heat waves, do not benefit from the usual protective effects of these areas during periods of unusually warm water in the Gulf of Alaska.
