Brazil: Paraná fish exports grow 20% in the first half of 2024

Fish exports in Paraná recorded a 20% growth in the first half of 2024, totaling 3.26 thousand tons, compared to 2.7 thousand tons in the same period of the previous year. The financial value of exports also increased significantly by 82%, reaching US$16.3 million, in contrast to US$8.9 million in the first half of 2023. These data were published in the Paraná Agricultural Situation Bulletin, produced by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral) of the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply (Seab). The main destination for fish from Paraná is the United States, which absorbs 98% of exports, totaling US$ 15.9 million, mainly tilapia, according to the Paraná Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes).
