In April 2025, Peru exported 1,997 tons of passion fruit for a value of $7.59 million, representing a 70% growth in volume and 91% growth in value compared to the same month in 2024. This increase was accompanied by a 12% improvement in the average price, which went from $3.38 to $3.80 per kilogram.
According to FreshFruit, this month, the main destination was the Netherlands, which concentrated 40% of the total exported value ($3.00 million), followed by the United States with 25% ($1.90 million). Further behind were France and Chile, both with an 8% share, and Italy, with 6%. Together, these five markets concentrated 87% of the exported value for the month.
The highest prices were recorded in destinations such as the United States, with an average of $5 per kilogram, and Spain, with $4.70 per kilogram. In contrast, the value per kilogram was lower in countries like the Dominican Republic ($1.07 per kilogram) and France ($2.67 per kilogram).
