(Agraria.pe) Yesterday, October 1, "Cocoa and Chocolate Day" was commemorated, an important commercial platform to highlight cocoa, as an original product with wide genetic diversity from the Peruvian Amazon, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). Peruvian cocoa is a center of origin and recognized worldwide for its natural characteristics, fine flavor and aroma. Peru is considered one of the main world producers and exporters of cocoa, with the main markets being the Netherlands, Indonesia, Mexico, Malaysia, the United States, Italy, Spain, Germany, among others. Peru appears as the third world exporter of organic cocoa only behind Mexico and Indonesia, and is one of the ten cocoa producing and exporting nations in the world.
