Peru will resume exporting grapes to Ecuador after an 8-year suspension, thanks to an agreement between Peru's National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) and Ecuador's Phyto and Zoosanitary Regulation and Control Agency (Agrocalidad). Signed during a bilateral meeting in Tumbes, the agreement reestablishes phytosanitary requirements for grape exports, benefiting Peruvian producers and the agro-export chain. Part of the Loja Action Plan, the deal aims to enhance bilateral trade, with future plans to restart fresh onion exports from Peru to Ecuador. Grapes, a major export for Peru, already reach 53 markets, and this agreement opens significant opportunities for local producers.
