(Agraria.pe) Between January and August of 2025, Peruvian onion exports totaled US$ 51,943,000, reflecting a contraction of -16% compared to the US$ 61,792,000 reported in the same period of the previous year. This was reported by the Agroexport Management of the Association of Exporters (ADEX), which pointed out that this decline is partly explained by the lower orders from the United States. In the first eight months of this year, onions from Peru reached 22 countries, with the United States being the main destination with shipments of US$ 19,029,000, accounting for 36.6% of the total. Other markets included Colombia with US$ 12,900,000, Spain US$ 11,530,000, Bolivia US$ 2,417,000, Costa Rica US$ 2,211,000, Dominican Republic US$ 1,344,000, and in smaller amounts to Haiti, Chile, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Nicaragua, among others.
