A delegation of auditors from the Philippines, led by Alvin Leal, visited Uruguay's National Meat Institute (INAC) to evaluate the authorization process for beef and sheep exports to the Philippine market. This visit is part of a comprehensive audit of the meat supply chain and involved discussions with INAC officials and representatives from the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries. With a population of 117 million and low per capita beef consumption, the Philippines represents a significant and growing market, making this audit a crucial step in expanding Uruguay's meat exports to Southeast Asia.
