Citizens reported isolated hamlets in the Piura mountains following the rains of the last week. The rise of the Corral del Medio river caused the hamlets of El Ingenio, La Maravilla, La Herrada, and Pampa Flores, in the province of Morropón, to become cut off after the access roads became impassable due to the increase in water flow. On the morning of this Monday, February 2, residents in the area reported that the speed bumps that served as an improvised bridge had been eroded by the water current. "It happens the same every year," expressed the disgruntled residents of the area. It should be noted that in the province of Huancabamba, the hamlets of Hormigueros, Loma de la Esperanza, Chaupe Bajo, Chaupe Alto, and Cerro Negro are also isolated.
