The recent surge in pork wholesale prices in South Korea to 4,300 won per kg is attributed to an increase in the number of graded animals. This rise has been consistent, with a 3.0% increase from the daily average of the previous month and a dramatic 13.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The average number of graded birds was 80,667 from the 27th of the previous month to the 6th of this month. Despite this, pork imports in the country have seen a slight decrease, totaling 244,243 tons until last month, which is approximately 5,400 tons less than the same period last year.
