In the first eight months of 2024, Georgia experienced a significant decrease in potato imports, with volumes dropping by 71.34% to 6,351 tons and value decreasing by 68.25% to $2,369,590 compared to the same period in 2023. The majority of these imports, accounting for 28.3% of the total, were sourced from Russia. Other countries like Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, and Germany also contributed to Georgia's potato imports, collectively making up the top five countries. This shift reflects a notable reduction in Georgia's potato import activity in the first half of 2024 compared to the previous year.
