Poultry sector exports from Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil in November 2024

In November 2024, the poultry sector in Rio Grande do Sul recorded significant growth in chicken meat exports, with a 16.5% increase in volume, representing 9.2 thousand more tons compared to the same month of the previous year. Revenue also performed positively, growing 26.9%, reaching US$ 125.8 million, an increase of US$ 26.6 million compared to November 2023. The poultry sector in the state was heavily impacted in August 2024 due to the outbreak of Newcastle Disease (ND). However, in the following months, there was a partial recovery, with the adaptation of exports to markets that had imposed specific restrictions on the affected region. Despite the recovery, from January to November 2024, chicken meat exports fell by 5.3%, with 636.1 thousand tons exported, 35.2 thousand tons less than in 2023.
