Hungary has experienced a significant increase in the live producer price of slaughter chicken and turkey in the first 30 weeks of 2021, with chicken price increasing by 6% and turkey by 2% compared to the previous year. The country has also seen a 30% rise in poultry meat exports, with chicken meat exports increasing by 15% and turkey meat by 45% in the first five months of 2021 compared to the same period in the previous year. However, the European Commission reported a decrease in EU poultry meat exports, while imports fell by 12%. Hungary's poultry meat imports decreased by 18% in the first five months of 2021. The price of whole chicken in Hungary also increased by 4% compared to the same period last year.
