On Sunday, 29-2024, the prices of imported feed and raw materials such as soybeans and corn used in animal feed experienced a significant increase, resulting in a surge in the cost of various types of animal feed. The price of broiler feed rose to a range of 18,500 to 22,800 pounds per ton, layer poultry feed to 16,500 to 19,300 pounds, cattle feed to 16,000 to 16,500 pounds, and other feed types also saw similar increases. This price hike is attributed to the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war and a rise in global fuel prices, leading major producers to convert corn into fuel. The Cairo Chamber of Commerce also confirmed these price fluctuations, highlighting that the final feed price for various types of fodder for different animals can vary based on quality, protein percentage, and freight costs.
