Producers monitor the health of citrus orchards

Citrus orchards in Rio Grande do Sul are advancing in the fruiting phase, with management focused on cultural practices and phytosanitary prevention actions. According to the Conjunctural Report, released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday, in the administrative region of Caxias do Sul, "the general aspect and productivity of the orchards are adequate." During this period, phytosanitary treatments, top dressings, and slashing were carried out. The orange is in fruiting, with fruits around 7 cm in diameter. In Cotiporã, the Ponkan cultivar bergamot showed initial fruit abortion, but, according to the report, "the plants maintain a satisfactory load."
