The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) identified that the expansion of the list of items exempt from the 40% tariff imposed by the United States on Brazil adds 238 codes to the list of exemption from the 40% tariff. Of these, Brazil exported 85 to the American market in 2024, equivalent to US$ 3.8 billion - 9.1% of the total exported last year. Of the 238 codes listed, 231 now have an additional zero rate, and only seven remain with the basic tariff of 10%, as they were not included in the modification of the scope of the exceptions of the Executive Order of November 14. Among these seven are pinions, crushed or ground vanilla, and cinnamon. With the update, 62.9% of Brazilian exports to the US remain subject to additional tariffs.
