In 2024, the European Union exported 95,000 tons of pork to the US, which is 2% of the total pork exports from the EU, with Denmark, Poland, and Spain being the main contributors. Due to the trade war between the US and China, there is potential for increased EU pork exports to China, especially pork by-products. However, Brazil is currently the second-largest supplier of pork to China, offering cheaper prices than the EU, and it is expected that Brazilian pork will replace US pork imports. The total EU pork and offal exports are predicted to remain stable due to reduced pork production in Northwestern Europe, leading to a rise in pork prices since late March 2025.
