In March 2023, Vietnam's rice exports reached 900 thousand tons, valued at 480 million USD, making the total rice export volume and value for the first quarter of 2023 1.79 million tons and 952 million USD, marking a 9.2% increase in average export price over the same period in 2022. The Philippines was the largest consumer of Vietnamese rice in the first two months of 2023, accounting for 43.3% of the market share. Domestically, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated, with some areas experiencing price drops due to harvesting, while other areas saw increases. The southern and northern rice markets were stable, with slight price decreases in some areas.
