In April, Brazil's rice exports experienced a significant surge, reaching 140.2 thousand tons, which is more than double the figures from April 2022. The export revenue for the month amounted to US$ 47 million, a notable increase from the US$ 18.2 million recorded in the same month the previous year. The country also saw an improvement in processed rice exports, with shipments totaling 22,400 tons and revenues at US$ 10 million, compared to 10,800 tons and US$ 4.2 million in April 2022. The main importers of Brazilian milled rice in April included Peru, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. The Brazilian Rice Project, in collaboration with ApexBrasil, was also involved in the SIAL Canada 2023 trade fair in Toronto as part of a strategy to expand processed rice exports to Canada. From January to April 2023, Brazil's rice exports reached 508.6 thousand tons, whereas in the same period in 2022, they were 518.2 thousand tons. However, the revenue from these exports increased from US$ 150.8 million to US$ 172.2 million during the same timeframe.
