A survey by the Rural Development Administration and the Korea Industrial Development Institute found that Southeast Asian consumers in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Malaysia greatly enjoy Hanwoo beef for its taste, flavor, and juiciness. Consumers in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and China particularly like the meat's marbling, while Malaysian consumers prefer its chewy texture. The survey, to be used to establish export strategies and promote Korean beef, also found that Malaysian consumers also like Yangji, a part of the beef often used in Korean street food.
