The Russian State Duma has passed a bill that prohibits the construction of new cattle burial grounds in order to ensure biological safety and prevent the spread of diseases. There are currently about 14,000 burial grounds in the country, and the law aims to establish uniform conditions for their maintenance. Existing burial grounds with a service life of over 25 years will also be ordered to be liquidated, and a federal register will be created to track biowaste using the state information system "Cerberus." These new requirements are set to take effect in September of next year.
