In January–July of the current year, Russia increased its shipments of dried lentils to over 104 thousand tons, amounting to more than $70 million. Compared to the same period last year, exports grew by 48% in physical terms and by 19% in value terms. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the federal center "Agroexport".
Thus, in the first seven months of 2024, Russia supplied about 70 thousand tons of this type of grain legume to foreign markets for almost $60 million.
The top five importers of Russian lentils include Turkey, the UAE, Iran, Egypt, and India. Additionally, this year, the country resumed exports of lentils to Senegal (no shipments were made since 2019) and to Sri Lanka (for the first time since 2023).
