In 2023, the agricultural trade between China and Russia experienced a significant increase of 33%, reaching over $11 billion. China became the largest consumer of Russian fish products, accounting for approximately 50% of exports. The main fish exports to China included pollock, herring, sardines, fishmeal, and crabs. The first Russian crab festival was held in Shanghai to promote seafood from Russia. The export volume of live crabs to China saw a 10% increase in 2024, reaching USD 461.3 million. Russia has expanded the geography of its fish exports to 80 countries, with the main importers being China, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Japan, Nigeria, Germany, and several new countries.
