After the Eid al-Adha holiday in Samsun, salmon became the most preferred fish.
Noting that red meat was heavily consumed during the holiday period, fishmonger Onurcan Köse said, "Citizens consumed a lot of meat during the holiday. Once the holiday ended, the crowds at our stalls resumed. Our prices are reasonable, and we have a wide variety."
Sharing the fish prices at the stalls, Köse stated, "Sea salmon is sold at 150 TL per kilo, trout at 140 TL, red mullet at 250 TL, rod-caught horse mackerel at 150 TL, sea bream at 380 TL, sea bass at 400 TL, and mullet at 100 TL. Especially because it is boneless and nutritious, salmon is the most preferred fish."
Citizens, meanwhile, noted that they prefer to buy fish when they are hosting guests and when rod-caught fish arrive.
