The UK government has highlighted the success of Scottish salmon exports, with significant growth in markets such as the US, China, Taiwan, and Singapore. The export value of Scottish salmon has increased by 18% in the US, 26% in China, and 41% in Taiwan and Singapore. France remains the largest market. If this growth trend continues, the industry is projected to set a new record for international sales. The Scottish Salmon Company also plans to increase the proportion of high-end salmon with 'Red Label' certification from 12% to 15% by 2026. The industry contributes significantly to the UK economy, with a domestic market value of approximately €1.2 billion and a total value added of €766 million.
