Vietnam's seafood exports have seen significant growth in the first 11 months of 2024, with the total turnover reaching nearly 9.2 billion USD, an 11.5% increase from the previous year. The country's main exports, shrimp, pangasius, and tuna, have all experienced positive growth, with shrimp showing the highest increase of 22% and is on track to reach 4 billion USD. Pangasius and tuna are also expected to surpass their 2023 figures, reaching 2 billion USD and 1 billion USD respectively. Other products like crab, shellfish, and squid have also seen impressive growth. The Vietnamese Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) predicts that the industry will achieve its 10 billion USD export target in 2024. The main export markets, China and the US, have shown significant growth, with China's turnover increasing by 61% and the US market by 21%. Despite challenges, the EU, Japan, and Korea continue to contribute significantly to Vietnam's seafood export turnover.
