The Russian Ministry of Agriculture is planning to limit the import of soybean, corn, and sunflower seeds starting from next year due to the country's heavy reliance on foreign hybrids. Despite large foreign producers suspending purchases of sunflower hybrids and revising prices, the ministry and the National Seed Alliance assure that there is no critical situation and that Russia will be able to replace foreign selection within two years. The ministry also stated that Russian farmers will be provided with high-quality domestic sunflower and corn hybrids by the start of the 2024 sowing season.
