Spain: The European Commission defines the area affected by the PSA in Catalonia

The European Commission has adopted the Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/2489, applicable until 28 February 2026, which establishes provisional emergency measures following the first confirmation of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Spain, specifically in Catalonia, on 28 November 2025. According to the Regulation, Spain must establish an area infected by African Swine Fever. This area includes the municipalities of Vallès Occidental, Vallès Oriental, Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès, Maresme, Alt Penedès, Anoia, and Bages, which are officially defined as the infected zone.
