Russia's fishery complex has seen a decrease in fish sales by 18% compared to last year, particularly salmon, despite having a total catch of 3.7 million tons at the end of September. There is concern that the decline in fish consumption, which has been ongoing for seven years, may be due to rising prices. To stimulate domestic demand and make fish more affordable, it is suggested that the domestic market should be more saturated with raw materials. However, there are challenges in maintaining coastal infrastructure as the catch increases. The price for Pacific herring in the Far East has also decreased by 1.8%. The fishing industry is facing challenges such as rising salmon prices and the need to find alternatives to components in shipbuilding from unfriendly countries. A working group has been formed to explore the possibility of producing some of the necessary equipment in Russia.
