The Korean Soybean Producers Association has expressed concern over a violation of Peruvian mung beans and red beans' country of origin and has appealed to the Customs Service to enhance inspection. The association visited the Daejeon Customs Service to raise concerns about the Korea-Peru Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and proposed measures such as including mung bean experts in the origin screening process, improving the country of origin inspection system, changing the issuance of certificates of origin, and increasing the purchase price of mung beans. The Customs Administration has reportedly responded positively to some of these requirements.
