The World Bank forecasts a 6% drop in global sugar prices in 2024 due to increased manufacturing output and favourable weather conditions. However, Vietnam's domestic sugar prices are expected to remain high in the short term due to low inventory and high demand. Despite a predicted 1.6% decrease in revenues for listed sugar companies in the 2023/2024F crop year, the overall business results are still positive compared to the past five crop years, thanks to high sugar prices.
