The 2025/2026 sugarcane harvest in the Center-South region of Brazil began with a decline in the main agronomic indicators. The data was released by the Sugarcane Technology Center (CTC), through the "De Olho na Safra" bulletin, linked to the institution's Benchmarking Program. According to the survey, the initial average productivity was estimated at 72.7 tons per hectare (TCH), representing a 16.6% reduction compared to the previous cycle. The projected average Total Recoverable Sugar (ATR) is 112 kilos per ton of sugarcane, which corresponds to a 3% decrease. As a consequence, the indicator that combines productivity and raw material quality, TAH (tons of ATR per hectare), should reach 8 tons, a 20% drop compared to the 2024/2025 harvest. Despite the reduction in production indices, the accumulated water deficit remains within the historical average, at around 300 millimeters.
