The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) is supporting the production of 225 tons of bananas on 50 decares of land at the Kindia Agricultural Research Center in Guinea, a West African country. The project aims to provide additional income for agricultural research and increase banana cultivation in the region. The first harvest of 135 tons generated 137 thousand euros. TİKA has provided agricultural equipment, fertilizer, herbicide, and irrigation system for the cultivation of bananas on the center's 5 hectares of land. The director of the center has requested support from TİKA for the establishment of a bacteriology laboratory.
