Morocco's carrot exports reached 43,000 tons last year, with the majority being sent to African countries, particularly Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Only 1% of the exports were shipped to Europe, specifically Spain. The number of Moroccan island exports increased by 46% from 2017 to 2022, and the export season was extended, peaking in late fall. However, exports started to decrease in September of the previous year. Morocco saw a record carrot production of 2,700 tons for export in 2023, marking an 80% increase from the same period in the previous year.
