The Palos educational and experimental zone at Khujand State University in Tajikistan's Sughd region has recently been enhanced with the addition of an intensive apricot and cherry orchard and a vineyard, expanding its operations since its establishment in 1959. Now covering 25.96 hectares, the zone is home to over 10,000 seedlings of various fruit and ornamental shrubs, as well as experimental vegetable plots. This development is part of a larger initiative aimed at improving practical agricultural education and fostering a closer relationship between science and industry in the Sughd region. Notably, this initiative has led to a significant increase in fruit production and the revitalization of old gardens and vineyards, marking a positive trend in the region's agricultural sector as of April 1, 2024.
