The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in Thailand is focusing on the research and development of high-value crops to produce disease-resistant seedlings and improve the quality of agricultural products. The country has 13 BY2 laboratories for durian exports, capable of testing 3,000 samples per day. There is sufficient capacity to meet demand. The production of eastern fruits (durian, mangosteen, rambutan, and longkong) is predicted to increase in 2025, while a large quantity of longan is expected to be available in the north in August, and lychee in May.
