The cost of Russian wheat with 12.5% protein delivered in May remained at $239 per ton last week, reported the analytical center "Rusagrotrans." American wheat increased by $4 to $255/t, French wheat by $1.5 to $234/t, Argentine wheat with 11.5% protein by $2 to $231/t, and Australian wheat by $7 to $266/t. The wheat exchange market in the U.S. strengthened last week, and prices also rose in the physical market, analysts noted. The condition of winter wheat crops in the U.S. has stabilized but remains poor. Moreover, spring wheat sowing in the states lags behind average levels and is significantly below expectations. In Russia, spring wheat sowing is slowing due to cold and rainy weather in the Central region. This week, low temperatures will also hinder spring sowing in Central Russia, and next week, the resumption of rains will follow.
