On April 13, in Vĩnh Long (formerly part of Bến Tre) and Đồng Tháp, relevant parties announced the export of the first batches of "Bến Tre green-skinned grapefruit" to Australia. The total output of the two batches reached several tens of tons, marking the beginning of the commercialization of this fruit in one of the markets with strict quarantine standards. Previously, in October 2025, authorities from both countries completed legal procedures, agreeing on technical conditions for grapefruit imports. This laid the foundation for businesses to actually implement exports, although further time was needed to complete the preparation stages. As one of the units participating in the first batch, Mr. Nguyễn Đình Tùng, CEO of Vina T&T, stated that the company exported 18 tons of grapefruit, sourced from Bến Tre.
