The Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Head: Lee Gwang-il) together with the Naju Livestock Cooperative (Chairman: Na Sang-pil) conducted an inspection of the quarantine situation at Usupje, a migratory bird arrival site in Gongsan-myeon, Naju City, on the 25th, to prevent livestock infectious diseases. This quarantine activity was carried out to once again emphasize the importance of blocking highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) as the winter season, when migratory birds begin to flow in, approaches. With a 84.8% increase in highly pathogenic AI occurrences worldwide from January to August this year compared to the previous year, significant damage is expected, making preemptive measures to prevent further spread even more urgent. The Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, in preparation for the high-risk period during the winter, is focusing on 18 livestock cooperatives within the province to conduct 101 inspections.
