Argentina has successfully opened its bovine meat market to Mexico, following over a decade of negotiations, thanks to the collaboration between the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the National Service of Health and Food Quality (Senasa), and the National Service of Health, Safety and Food Quality (Senasica) of Mexico. This development expands Argentina's beef export reach, including 22 plants, to join existing major markets like the EU, the United States, China, Chile, and Israel. The breakthrough is attributed to the efforts of the Argentine Foreign Ministry and Senasa, capitalizing on Mexico's import of approximately 86,000 tons of boneless beef in 2021, worth USD 750 million. This achievement is expected to boost trade and investment between the two countries, which saw a significant increase in exports to Mexico, totaling USD 986 million from January to November 2022, a 54% rise from the previous year.
