The Russian Ministry of Agriculture is planning to ban the export of sugar, including cane or beet sugar and chemically pure sucrose, until August 31, 2024. This move is in response to concerns about the increased supply of sugar abroad and the need to maintain sufficient stocks for the new season. However, the ban will not affect sugar exports to the EAEU countries within certain limits. This comes after a significant increase in sugar exports from Russia since the fall of 2023, which reached 442 thousand tons by mid-February 2024.
