The Netherlands just outside the top three largest cheese and butter producers in Europe

The Netherlands is the fourth largest cheese producer in Europe. In the field of butter, the Netherlands has to recognize its superior in four European countries. This emerges on Thursday from figures on milk products from Eurostat statistics. European cows produced 160.1 million tons of raw milk last year. That represented a year-on-year increase of 1.1 percent. About 150 million tons of cow's milk was used for the processing of milk products and other products that require milk.
