Tajikistan has a cattle population of over 2.5 million and small cattle population of more than 6 million, with the majority in the private sector, according to Safarali Nazarov, head of the "Pasture and Reclamation Trust" of the Ministry of Agriculture. The number of farm animals has increased by 4% on average, with a rise in cattle and small cattle by 102 thousand and 1060 horses respectively. Meat production has also increased by 12 thousand tons, and milk production by 16.4 thousand tons.
