The Association of Dutch Wine Producers states that experienced wine growers are gaining more knowledge and investing in machinery to expand their operations, thanks to growing brand awareness and improving quality. This increase in Dutch wine production is also attributed to more favorable weather conditions, with sunnier and drier summers. However, Netherlands' climate is still not as warm as traditional wine countries like France, Spain, or Italy, making it unsuitable for growing certain grapes. In 2020, over 1.3 million bottles of white wine were produced, making up almost three quarters of the total Dutch wine production, while the rest consisted of rosé and red wine.
