The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has proposed extending the ban on roach fishing in the Caspian Sea, as well as in the Volga and its watercourses in the Astrakhan Region and water bodies of Kalmykia until December 31, 2025. The corresponding draft order of the ministry was published on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts. This measure applies to both industrial and amateur roach fishing. "To ban industrial fishing and amateur fishing for roach in the Caspian Sea, in the Volga River and its watercourses in the Astrakhan Region and water bodies of the Republic of Kalmykia until December 31, 2025," the document says.
