The sale of domestic watermelons has started in Ukraine: How much do they cost?

This week, Ukrainian producers began shipping the first large batches of watermelons at a price of UAH 18-27/kg, which is on average 59% more expensive than the first batches of these melons last year. As analysts of the EastFruit project reported, the sale of watermelons in the current year began at least a week earlier than in the previous year. According to the key players of the market, the higher prices for local watermelons this year are caused primarily by the lack of supplies of these products from the Kherson region, which, in fact, is the leader in watermelon cultivation. According to the producers themselves, a more mass sale of watermelons will begin in early August. They do not rule out a sharp decrease in the price of watermelons in the near future due to an increase in the market supply of these products from local farms.
