The village of Velyka Dobron in Ukraine is known for its large-scale cultivation of sweet red paprika, with many residents, including the couple Parasti and Gabor, growing it across 15 acres. The paprika is sun-dried and ground for use in local cuisine, with the couple planning to harvest 250 kilograms this year. However, the coronavirus pandemic has negatively impacted the market, reducing the price from 150 hryvnias to 70 hryvnias per kilogram. Despite the challenges, the sense of tradition and community in the village continues to inspire.
